Welcome to the official campaign site for Carter Holston, a candidate for Rowlett City Council. With 40 years of experience as a resident of Rowlett and a 25-year background in corporate leadership, I am dedicated to community leadership. I am stepping forward to serve our community with stability, integrity, and a commitment to enhancing Rowlett politics for a stronger future for every family.
Leadership at Every Level
My leadership experience extends far beyond Rowlett, and every role I’ve held has strengthened my ability to serve our city with wisdom, perspective, and steady judgment. As a candidate for the City Council, I bring a lifetime of community leadership that includes local crisis response, regional service, and global collaboration—all shaping a steady service-driven approach for Rowlett in the realm of Rowlett politics.
International Leadership

As part of my community leadership efforts, I coordinated international business and diplomatic meetings, including a visit to the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo. This work not only strengthened economic ties but also opened doors for Texas-based companies, reflecting my commitment to Rowlett politics. A global perspective enhances my understanding of how international partnerships can benefit local communities like Rowlett, which I aim to support as a member of the City Council.
Statewide Leadership

I have collaborated with state leaders on economic development, business policy, and community initiatives, which has informed my perspective on Rowlett politics. My experience at the Texas Capitol, alongside figures like Carter Holston, has equipped me with a clear understanding of how statewide decisions impact local families, neighborhoods, and city budgets, emphasizing the importance of community leadership.
Regional Leadership
I served as the Chairperson for Workforce Solutions of Greater Dallas
For more than 10 years, I served on the board of Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas, including the last two years as Chair. This role deepened my understanding of regional workforce needs and the importance of preparing students and adults for meaningful careers. My service was recognized by the Board for my work in the region, which aligns with my commitment to community leadership and my involvement in Rowlett politics. As I consider future opportunities, including a potential run for the City Council, I remain dedicated to enhancing the workforce landscape in our area.
Local Leadership
Although I have lived in Rowlett for more than 40 years, much of my professional and community service took place in Irving, where I worked for 25 years. When I began planning for retirement two years ago, I made a deliberate decision to bring my experience, leadership, and passion for service back home to Rowlett. Since then, I have served on the Rowlett Golf Advisory Board, the Board of Adjustments, and the Waterview HOA, actively contributing to Rowlett politics and community leadership. I work closely with neighbors to strengthen our community, inspired by my commitment to making Rowlett a better place for all.
